Do you suffer from chronic pain?
Fibromyalgia?
Migraines?
Interstitial Cystitis?
Vulvodynia?
TMJ Dysfunction?
Or Other Chronic Pain?
Hypnosis is a powerful tool in any total pain management strategy. It uses the amazing power of your own mind to help you regain control over your life. Hypnosis is a very effective complement to any existing medical pain management methods you may be using. We don’t work against doctors - we work WITH them to increase your comfort and help you feel well again.**
We take a multi-pronged approach to chronic pain management:
We teach you actual pain control techniques that you can use when your pain flares up. Pain control is one of the most amazing facets of hypnosis. With hypnosis, women can even be taught how to give birth with little or no pain! Your mind can actually be “retrained” to interpret pain signals differently. And you can be taught to self-administer your own “hypnoanesthesia” when you need it.
We teach you self-hypnosis. Knowing self-hypnosis is crucial to controlling your pain, because it teaches you how to nurture and strengthen your own mind-body connection. By itself, self-hypnosis is empowering for chronic pain patients, because it begins the process of putting control back into YOUR hands. We teach multiple methods of self-hypnosis, some instantaneous and some that require 10-20 minutes to complete. This allows you to pick and choose the method that is right for you at any given moment.
We work with you on stress management. Stress management can play an important role in easing chronic pain. Many types of chronic pain are aggravated by the physiologic effects of excessive stress. People who can reduce their stress levels can minimize those effects. Techniques can be taught which will teach you to recognize the beginnings of stress and to bring yourself to a state of peace and calm.
Sometimes, chronic pain can be accompanied by extreme fear and/or panic attacks, especially when the pain flares up. Besides the emotional discomfort these fears and panic attacks bring, they can have negative physical effects, including muscle clenching and rapid, shallow breathing, both of which impede normal, vital oxygen flow to all parts of the body. If you have extreme fear and/or panic attacks in connection with your chronic pain, we can teach you techniques which will allow you to keep yourself calm both physically and emotionally.
Don’t suffer with chronic pain needlessly! Let our pain-control hypnosis program put YOU back in control. Get back into life!
**Hypnosis is not a substitute for treatment by a medical practitioner. If you have chronic pain and you have not sought medical help, we urge you to see your doctor. If you are under the care of a physician, please discuss your hypnosis sessions with him or her.
